Simple Pleasures
featuring the art of
Sarah Kelly + Madalyn Wofford
Sarah Kelly
(she/her)
Sarah Kelly is most alive in the heat of the green summers in the North Carolina foothills. She moves her furniture around too often and loves to be barefoot in the yard. She is an artist, curator, and writer and hopes to one day be a flower farmer. Her primary mediums were oil painting and ceramics until she fully realized the immense pleasure in utilizing space as a medium to support the artworks of others, and writing to explore the cultural economies of craft. Sarah has an undergraduate degree in Painting, and a master’s degree in Critical Craft Studies. After a curatorial fellowship at the Asheville Art Museum, Sarah was awarded a prestigious fellowship and served as the Windgate Curator of Contemporary Craft and Design at the Arizona State University Art Museum. A recent return to painting has reignited an old flame not soon to be forgotten.
