Collective Exchange Part II

Collective Exchange Part II

July 5-27 ~ "Community"

Randolph Arts Guild

What makes a community creative?  The Randolph Arts Guild (RAG), a 41 year old non-profit NC arts organization explores this notion head-on with an exhibition of the same name.  “Community” for RAG is a lighthearted, compelling selection of the art and artists who live in Randolph County and are associated with the Randolph Arts Guild.  But there’s more -- three local jurors from all walks of life select the show.  Each is tasked with providing commentary regarding their selections for the exhibition.  Thus the public will get a more thorough look into Randolph County’s art world -- artists’ visual thoughts and jurors’ commentary will be on display.  “The fertile mud here is deep  -- we have multi-generational potters, textile artists, sculptors, painters, photographers, and a wood worker or two.  It is the hope of the organization that this exhibition will offer an excellent opportunity to check out a quality slice of creative life in Randolph County” says Les Caison III who serves as Program Director for the Guild.
