Bells In The Night - Ekphrastik Solstice

A fun early evening of poetry, art and musical improvisation - An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. Through the imaginative act of narrating and reflecting on the “action” of a painting or sculpture, the poet may amplify and expand its meaning.

Bring a poem, an instrument, some food or beverage to share. Family Friendly Event.

Delurk Gallery proudly welcomes legendary artist DEREK HESS! Derek will be hitting the road in May to sign his new book ‘31 Days in May’ : a visual journal of mental illness and addiction. Friday, May 11th Derek will be at Delurk screening his award winning documentary “Forced Perspective”, followed by a Q&A with a book signing.

Join us Sunday afternoon for an informal discussion about memory loss and reconnection with family, friends and challenges faced by families who are navigating the uncertain waters of Dimentia and Alzheimers. 

Guests include writers from Authoring Action, Brookdale Memory Center, Delurk Collective artists, and other community members.

Authoring Action Outreach Ensemble serves as a resource for educational, cultural, social and civic organizations seeking youth engagement and insight to achieve healthy, thriving and unified communities.
